Phillips Patterns & Castings, Inc., founded in 1947 by Gerald Phillips, Jr., is a well-established aluminum foundry and manufacturing company based in Muncie, Indiana. Starting humbly in a 12' x 12' chicken coop on the founder's family land, the company has grown significantly over the decades, guided by the principles of hard work, high character, and accountability. Initially focused on wooden pattern manufacturing, Phillips Patterns expanded into sand casting in 1960, prompting a name change to Phillips Patterns & Castings, Inc. In 1996, Phillips Patterns & Castings further expanded its facilities by over 70,000 square feet at a new location four miles northeast of the original site, allowing for the relocation of the machine shop and permanent molding equipment. This expansion also enabled the introduction of die-casting and vibratory finishing services. The original location remains active for green sand and air-set molding operations. Demonstrating a commitment to innovation and quality, the company invested in state-of-the-art equipment over recent years, entering markets such as rapid prototyping (3-D printing) and powder coating since 2009.
